Personal Profile

I am currently a Fashion Designer for a fashion supply company Stitch Co UK. As well as assisting the account manager liaise with both clients and international factories, to produce quality womenswear for both national and international clothing brands. With multiple year’s worth of experience, in different sectors and a BA (Hons) degree in Fashion Design and Technology from Manchester Metropolitan University. I have learnt to be independent and a team player – working with little supervision, showing initiative, being reliable and respectful to people I work with. I consider myself a quick learner and keen to learn new skills and build on ideas. Additionally, I am well organised, and understand how important time management is, successfully working to deadlines.

Education

BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology: 2.1

The degree included: Fashion Design; Fashion Technology; Fashion Business; Fashion Culture and Textile testing.

A-level Grades: 3 A-Levels: Fine Art; Sociology; Maths.

GCSE grades: 10 GCSE’s A – B. Including; English, Maths, Additional Science and Textiles.

First Aid qualified 

Skills and Abilities

With the valuable skills I have gained from my work experiences and degree in fashion design and technology. I am able to add vital knowledge to a workplace. Where I am able to both adapt to new environments and sectors, while also being able to show innovation and professionalism within my job role. I am very confident in using Microsoft software and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, creating detailed CADS, design/trend boards and lookbooks; as well as print/graphic design. Additionally, producing technical specification packs to communicate clear interpretation of designs for international manufacturers. Working towards deadlines alongside a critical path so that both clients and factories have a clear understanding of production lead times. I have a good level of understanding in pattern making manually and using Gerber Accumark. As well as the technical skills, I have gained knowledge of fabrics/textiles to produce a high-quality garment from high street to couture market levels.

Work Experience

  • 2022-current: Stitch Co UK - Fashion Designer: My responsibilities at Stitch Co UK, include designing CADS and tech packs for womenswear clothing brands both nationally and internationally like EGO, Fashion Nova and In the Style. Focusing on developing collections based on briefs given and personal current/future trend research. Additionally, I assistant account manage for EGO, being the first point of call for liaising with both client and international factories, sticking to a critical path so that deadlines and met.

  • 2022 –23: The Warehouse Project – Agency Bartender: I serve customers a high-quality service at warehouse project during live events/gigs. I am able to work calming and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and ensure that all customers are happy and safe. Additionally, being able to use an EPOS system and keeping the bar clean and tidy in keeping with all health and safety standards.

  • 2022: Tommy Hilfiger – Part Time Sales Assistant:  Working as a part time sales assistant at Tommy Hilfiger in The Trafford Centre Manchester, required me to deliver a high-end customer experience within the shop. Ensuing customers have a positive shopping experience. Additionally, using a EPOS system working towards personal and business KPI’s. Also, keeping the shop clean and the stock replenished, creating a welcoming environment for customers.  

  • 2020-21: Stitch Co UK - Fashion Design Intern: During my year placement at Stitch Co UK, I gained an understanding of fashion designing within the industry. Communicating fashion ideas with clients and ensuring financial consideration for each project. Allowing me to be apart of the whole process from initial concept to final product sample. Also, I gained an understanding of the fashion calendar and working towards deadlines.

  • 2020: Lulu Liu London - Fashion Design Assistant Intern: I gained valuable experience at Lulu Liu London as I got to assist in the development of a new haut couture collection. Focusing on digital print design to work alongside handmade prints. Additionally, help creating draped samples on stand and producing hand sewn embroidery.

  • 2019: HAP Events – Agency Bartender: Serving customers during live events/gigs across London. I am able to work calming and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and ensure that all customers are happy and safe. Additionally, being able to use an EPOS system and money handling. Making sure the bar is kept clean and tidy in keeping with all health and safety standards.

  • 2016: Primark – Part Time Sales Assistant: I worked as a part-time Sales Assistant, which enabled me to learn the skills required for working in a fast-paced retail environment, interacting with customers, fulfilling their enquiries and the importance of taking instructions from managers.

  • 2016: Mirjam Rouden – Print Design Intern: During my A-levels I completed a summer internship, designing new prints for Spring/Summer 2017 fashion line. I gained skills in generating and developing designs from a trend board/brief. This helped me to become a self-critic, learning to improve my fashion design thus preparing me for my studies in fashion at university and later in my work. 

  • 2013: Significant Seams – Part time Volunteer: I worked as a volunteer, helping the local community with crafting and sewing skills on projects, in a community organised craft shop. The role was very fulfilling as I had the opportunity to create my own range of handmade crafts which were sold in the shop. The role also helped me to obtain the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

Hobbies

From a young age I have participated in performing arts, enjoying dancing, singing and acting. My hobby led me to become Vice Chair and Team Captain for Manchester Metropolitan University Dance Society for 4 years while I was studying. Although, I am no longer performing and competing; I remain active as I attend different dance classes and the gym throughout the week. Additionally, my love for food keeps me in the kitchen baking and cooking new recipes for healthy alternatives and sweet treats.
